I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Shalona/Modern Day Rani to anyone looking for a custom Indian bridal outfit or jewellery. Having less than 3 months to plan my wedding and a less than traditional design in mind, I was a difficult customer but Shalona hit the ground running and made it all happen. Modern Day Rani recommends 6-12months for the design process to allow for preparing, reviewing and tweaking samples and I think if we had more time, we would have achieved absolute perfection, but in 2 months we still got pretty close! My lehenga was of such beautiful handmade quality and with a last minute change to the dupatta and some bangles from MDR to complement my existing jewellery, I think we nailed the brief. Shalona listened to what I wanted and what I was comfortable with, but also made some wise suggestions backed by her experience. Shalona also helped me get dressed on my wedding day and was an absolute godsend. She helped me with the lehenga, placed my jewellery and dupatta beautifully, and helped me troubleshoot and stay calm as things went wrong on the day as they inevitably do.
