Rydges Resort Hunter Valley

Highly recommend. We booked a 3 bedroom villa for 2 families. Villa was modern, clean and both hubby and I had the best sleep in a long time. Beds and pillows were fantastic. Kids also had alot of fun at the kids water park and pool. Buffet breakfast surprised us on the up side - it was excellent! Coffees were good, they also had a great made to order selection (eggs anyway, ham Benedict, chilli jam eggs, smash avo w egg), Buffet selection was fresh and tasty (all the standards plus crisp bacon, machine made pancakes, congee and a very yummy chia pudding). Already planning to be coming back. For couples with no kids - set up is also very good with golf, spa and an adult only pool!

Really enjoyed a family holiday here with friends. It hit the mark on all aspects and perfect for families and adults. The hotel food and room service was top notch. Breakfast as well was delicious at the buffet. The staff are very hospitable and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back.

Very nice resort, nice food in all restaurants and room service. Friendly staff. The villas are a tad run down and old. Mould in bathroom and water damaged windows and tiles. The room furnishings were sub par. The Resort itself besides the Villa were very good with a good pool and spa area. There is quire a bit to do onsite, with an onsite brewery and a golf course just to name a few. I can see this would be a good place for company functions.

Convenient location, friendly staff. However its convenient location makes it a weekend Mecca for Sydney and area families, tourists and golfers. So be warned, this place is like a combination of theme park, feeding zoo (buffet) and parking war zone. That and the place is feeling dated with rooms needing a freshen up. So, if you’re after a relaxing weekend escape, better wine country options available.

Having been a few times over the past ten years it has changed for the worse unfortunately. Re my past two visits, the rooms are not clean enough and abit dated now. They are also very tight on cleaning. U have to pay for cleaners to tidy up your room. That's a first globally! Had to negotiate a couple of fresh towels lol also they're really tight on late checkout. Not sure if its cost cutting but years ago it was a much nicer feel. Just have to be frank so you can take the feedback on board.
