Rydges Resort Hunter Valley

Beautiful grounds and great activities for the kids the staff at the kids centre and breakfast were fantastic and helpful. Villa was lovely and nice and close to main resort facilities. Real missed opportunity with the foyer lounge/piano bar. Beautiful space that is under utilised. Bar just didn’t open meaning you needed to get drinks downstairs and bring them up, had to ask staff twice to get the beautiful fire started.

We recently stayed at the resort in Room 358 and, overall, had a wonderful experience. The resort itself was fantastic. The train ride was enjoyable, the two ladies at the kids' games section were incredibly kind, gentle, and welcoming, the food was good, and although the rooms are a little older, they were well maintained and comfortable. Unfortunately, one interaction at reception left us very disappointed. At approximately 5:15 pm on Sunday, we found an access card near the arcade games area. My daughter wanted to do the right thing, so she took the card to reception to hand it in. We approached reception only to return the lost card and were not seeking any assistance. The receptionist responded by telling my daughter, in what we felt was a rude tone, that she needed to stand in the queue because other customers were being served. We fully understand the need to follow procedures and wait in line when requesting assistance. However, this situation was different—we were simply trying to hand over a lost room key so it could be returned to its owner. What disappointed us most was the way this was communicated to a young child. A polite and friendly response would have made all the difference. Instead, the interaction left my daughter feeling upset and unfortunately overshadowed an otherwise excellent stay. We believe staff should be reminded of the importance of speaking respectfully and kindly, especially when interacting with children. Apart from this incident, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and appreciated the excellent service provided by the rest of the team.

We recently stayed at Rydges Resort Hunter Valley and had a truly wonderful experience overall. It was the perfect getaway with family and friends, offering a great mix of relaxation and activities for everyone. The accommodation was comfortable and well-suited for a group stay, and we especially loved the range of activities available around the resort — there was always something to do, which made the trip even more enjoyable. A special mention to the staff, who were consistently friendly, welcoming, and incredibly helpful throughout our stay. Their hospitality really made a difference. While the beds and some parts of the building could benefit from a bit of freshening up, it didn’t take away from the overall experience. Everything was still quite comfortable and functional. All in all, we had a fantastic stay and created some great memories. We’d definitely consider coming back again!

Had a great few days here felt like a real holiday even though we only live just over an hour a way. The apartments by the golf course were really big and the breakfast was top notch altogether making it feel like an expensive hotel overseas. So much to do in the area too and the golf was enjoyable ad a family activity. Pickle ball courts too!

What can I say, Absolutely Beautiful! I am currently with my family on a 3 night stay and we are amazed. The staff are all welcoming, very professional and super helpful. Keep it up, because the people here are what "Make it happen". The room we are staying in is very clean and well maintained, which makes staying away from home even more comfortable. The amenities are great with pretty much everything you will need in close proximity. We have had breakfast and dinner at Gather over 3 days/nights and it was such a pleasant experience. The service provided by the staff is "second to none", they were all wonderful to deal with and should be commended for their great work. The food was exceptional, really good quality and fresh, what an absolute spread for breakfast! Just about anything and everything to get your day started, not to mention, the barristers work wonders with that Vittoria Coffee. Dinner time is really something special though. Kids meals are not just a "second thought" here, and are comparable to a good meal at home. The menu showcases some really nice dishes, made to a very high quality. I couldn't go past the steak options though and the knowledgeable staff paired my dinner with a side dish and a lovely glass of wine. Make sure you finish the night off with dessert, you will be left amazed by the experience. I will definitely be coming back for holidays but I will make sure it's for a bit longer to really enjoy this place more. Thank you for hosting me and my family.
